Careers
Our reputation as one of the region’s leading law firms depends on recruiting and retaining the industry’s brightest talent.
Your training with us will be led by our Partners, who are regularly featured within Legal 500 and Chambers. We take a practical, positive approach to new talent, giving you the chance to take on responsibility quickly.
We are looking for people with intellectual ability, a pragmatic commercial attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to exceed our clients’ expectations. In return, we offer competitive salaries, great benefits, and consideration will be given to paying LPC course fees.
After investing tens of thousands of pounds and getting through the necessary courses, you will have an approximate idea of what sort of law you might want to do when you qualify, and we try and tailor your training to meet that ambition.
Applications will open soon for 2025/26. If you would like to apply for a training contract with us, please apply to our Trainee Solicitor vacancy when it is live and fill in the application form in full, providing as much detail as possible alongside a CV and cover letter.
If you are successful, you will be invited to attend an initial interview on Microsoft Teams, where you will have the opportunity to discuss your CV and find out more about a training contract with Roythornes.
Successful candidates will then be invited to return for our second round of interviews, where you will be invited to one of our offices to take part in two interviews with our Partners.
Those that are successful in the first round of interviews will also be sent a psychometric test, to assist us in understanding your behavioural and communicational preferences. We will give you feedback on your assessment during the second round of interviews. There are no right or wrong answers to this, so no need to overthink it!
