Joanna has been advising clients in the private client arena for over 15 years. She trained as a Private Client Solicitor and is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) and the Association of Lifetime Lawyers, whilst also sitting as a STEP Birmingham branch committee member.
She has expertise in dealing with a wide range of private client matters including advising on a wide range of succession planning and taxation issues assisting in protecting wealth across generations. In addition she manages both estate and trust administration matters and advises on powers of attorney and Court of Protection appointments; acting as professional deputy for a number of clients. Building long term relationships with clients, their families and advisors ensures that Jo can provide the best advice as a trusted advisor for generations.
Jo has in most recent years been a Partner at a large national law firm leading a substantial Court of Protection team and was National Head of their award winning Personal Injury Trusts team - providing substantial technical advice for both UK and cross jurisdictional settlements.
Jo works closely with our personal injury teams and manages multi-million pound damages claims while also acting as an expert witness to ensure that awards are structured to include costs recovery for future deputyship or trust costs.
