Leah Merrifield
Leah is a solicitor in our private wealth disputes team. She is a member of the Contentious Trusts Association, and specialises in disputes concerning trusts and probate.
Leah has particular experience in:
- Bringing and defending claims for financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975;
- Disputes concerning the validity of wills, including claims based on want of capacity, lack of knowledge and approval and undue influence;
- Disputes concerning lifetime transactions;
- Disputes concerning co-owned property; and
- Disputes relating to estate administration, including applications to court for personal representatives to give an account, or to be removed.
Leah qualified as a solicitor with Roythornes in August 2023 after achieving distinctions in her GDL and LPC at the University of Law. In her previous role within the firm, Leah gained experience in the preparation of wills and lasting powers of attorney, estate administration and complex Court of Protection cases.
She aims to give thorough and pragmatic advice to support clients in achieving their goals either through alternative dispute resolution or through court procedures. Leah has helped clients to achieve settlements at mediations, and has guided clients through court processes all the way through to final trials.
