Rebecca Ironmonger
Rebecca qualified as a Solicitor in September 2020 into our Regulatory team as a dispute resolution solicitor, with a particular focus on the food and agriculture sectors.
Rebecca advises and defends food businesses, farmers and housebuilders when they are faced with adverse decisions, enforcement actions and prosecutions by local and national government including the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Department for Environment, food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Environment Agency, Trading Standards and local councils. Her key specialisms are in animal welfare law, food law and environmental law on trees, waste, water and pest control.
The food and farming sectors come up against a number of challenges that are unique to their sector. As a beef and dairy farmer's daughter herself, Rebecca in particular has an in-depth knowledge of those sectors.
Rebecca’s work includes challenging enforcement notices in the Tribunal and Magistrates Court, advising on criminal investigations and prosecutions in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, and challenging decisions by way of Judicial Review in the High Court.
